first rally in the e30

Postby jerseypug » Fri Jun 21, 2019 7:44 am

I have just competed in a short rally which was perfect for another shakedown to see if anything needs sorting out, The car ran great apart from some windscreen wiper problems, I have a list of things to do now like replace the rear master cylinder for a smaller one and fit a fuel swirl pot as i had to run a minimum of half a tank. The car was lifting a rear wheel through the corners so i am going to try a front arb and see if it helps. the gearbox is brilliant but takes a bit of getting used to, it is a Quaife 15G which is designed for 700bhp and supposed to be indestructible. I have a spare one which i might swap over just to try it out.
we were up to 9th in the dry but dropped down to 12 in the rain which i am more than happy with as we were up there with some big power cars, i am running narrow second hand yokohama tyres which are not great but are cheap and i had cut slicks for the rain. The car has more to give and needs the little things sorting out and i need to spend some money on tyres (the last set of new tyres i bought was 14 years ago)
My next rally is in October so plenty of time
