E30 325i rear 5 bolt Hubs

Postby Bimsy » Mon Nov 05, 2018 7:29 pm

Hi All

Is there a conversion out there to convert 4 stud to 5 stud rear hubs? I have an E30 325i rear trailing arms with new bearings in the hubs and I want to fit these to my E36 Compact 318Ti, However , the 5 stud hubs on the compact will not fit into the larger 325i hub bearings. Is there a 5 stud hub which will fit?

Z3 (6 cylinder) ????

Any help would be gratefully appreciated >

Thanks.

the 5 stud hub and 4 stud hub i have are the same sized length and diameter where they fit into the arm. the bearing i use on the compact is the same size as yours. The 4 stud arms i have off an e30 take the same size bearing. the e30 arms are off a 320i touring which i think was the only 2 litre with a disk braked rear so earlier e30s might have had different sized bearings. sorry its no help to you but my e30 arms take the compact 5 stud hub with the same size bearing.

Cheers, I`ve done some digging and found what B.M`s have the larger bearing fitted so need to get the car back and strip it down and measure the hub flange shaft. There are flanges that fit the bearing but I need to know if the splines are correct and that the shaft is the right length to fit the rear solid disc over.

Did you send over a picture? if so I couldn`t open it.

Cheers

All sorted done some digging and found the perfect swap.

Using the E30 325i Trailing Arms with the bigger hub bearing I can use the Z3 3.0Ltr Hub Flange which is the same as my 318Ti flange but it fits the bigger bearing, result.
Bigger beefy bearing and Z3 flange !!!

At Last!!!!!!
