Gravel Tyres

Hi,
I'm new to the forum. In fact I won't actually have my car until this weekend.

I am buying a 318 Compact for use in Targa rallies. The first event for me and the car will be the Knutsford Targa rally on Sept 8th.

I am told that part worn gravel tyres will be the best tyre choice for the the conditions.

Does anyone have experience of using a compact for this type of event? What tyres would you recommend?

Jeff, I used an E36 316i saloon to do the Targa rally on Mull last year. Great fun but make sure you have a basic sump guard and that the fuel/brake lines are protected underneath floor or run inside. I use some winter tread tyres which worked well on the mixed surface for that event.
