Hi.

Long-time BMW owner but I won't go so far as to say "nut" ! Quite a lot of E36s over the years and a sprinkle of others. I remember Simon & his red M3 Compact from waaaaay back on the BMWCar forum.

I've done a few autosolos this year in my road car, which has been fun and I'll carry on with that, but I also tried a grass autotest and my car was dire. I need smaller & lighter if I'm going to do that again. So having considered the options and decided I'm not a FWD person, and I'm not a Mazda person, but I am a BMW person, I clearly need a Compact in my life. Not for actual rallying, but for mucking about and some fun club-level events it would be perfect. So here I am

Yes I was, about ten years ago !! It's long gone now. The last pics I took:

It worked really well, but as a daily driver it was just getting ruined. I've ended up with other cars but for some autosolo & autotest fun I fancy small & light. I'm looking at the ads all the time but my ideal car - E36 318ti sport, manual, silver, with no sunroof - seems to be pretty rare !

Well, it took a while but I've just (slightly accidentally) bought an E36 Compact.

Only a 316i but it has the rest of the spec I wanted - silver, Sport kit, and no sunroof. I just have to trailer it home from Norwich to Sandhurst.
