coupe suspension on a compact

I would like to know why they say coupe suspension won't fit a compact because I had coilovers on my coupe and it went straight on my compact not a problem

which compact? 36 or 46?

yes obviously I have looked at the back when I was fitting the suspension off the coupe on to the compact it went on fine that's why I'm confused about why they say it won't fit

46 rear suspension is the same on coupe/ compact
36 rear suspension is totally different .
compact suspension is the same as e30 rear with swing arms and a beam .also compact is based on a e30 floor plan
Coupe suspension is multi link and only shares the diff casing with a different back plate.

but how come when I ran the bc's off the coupe on the compact it worked? it baffles me any suggestions on what to run for tarmac?

I did yes but if it all bolts up the same why is it different I know floor pan and rear end is different . bit if it fits off a coupe is it down to the angle or different shaped springs.
if all bolts up and works why are people saying it needs different suspension.?
