E46..? discuss!

Ive been loitering about here for a while and often sing the priases of a bmw as a rally car, but would anyone wish to enlighten me as to why we dont see any of the E46`s (compact and booted) about on events?

am i missing something obvious??

E46 compact is a great shape, but availability /swapability of e36/e30 similar rear suspension has been a factor for us , just running an e46 318ti at the mo and like it but not much travel in the suspension

interesting on the suspension travel, i only ask as i ran an e46 msport road car, and id say it would make quite a capable tarmac car, but would like to take one into the woods and E46`s are no money at all to buy!

I think there's worst cars you could build! And no faffing with the arches as 18" wheels fit under no bother, good size engine bay and plenty non sunroof models

I think the main problem with E46 compacts is that they are CANBUS ! Its hard to add or delete electrical stuff compared to an E36 ?
