BMW Motorsport colour scheme

I'm still not sure what colour to paint the exterior of my 1 series rally car! I had more or less decided to go with Renault racing blue but I'm still not fully convinced, I'm still thinking about white with the BMW Motorsport colours in 3 big bands diagonally across the car.

Can anyone suggest the colours to use for this?

red with black and grey stripes up the sides, bmw colours is (for me) a bit 80's will go with your grey paint work elsewhere then.

Not a big fan of the bmw motorsport schemes on the newer cars. But if you did decide to go for it, the M stripes have their own specific colour code. The white has always been Alpine white, the shades are numbered 1-4? The earlier ones being quite a bit darker than the new ones and in my opinion are the only ones which can pull the red and blue off.

OK, thanks, I still havn't decided but as you say, whatever I do go for will work with the Porsche Meteor grey metallic that I've used for the underside and engine bay. Also it will be the same inside once I finally get around to it. It took me longer than I anticipated making small brackets to fix the dashboard in etc this weekend so still no paint inside (see other thread). I might just stick with my first choice of the Renault Clio racing blue.

Same Metallic Grey all over, then all the trim ie grill's, door handle's etc etc in Satin Black, Wheels in Satin Black and then 2 large stripes right over like the Ford GT40 / Capri RS3100 Stripes in Carbon effect would give it a menassing stance !!!!!

Well the wheels are black but gloss not satin!

I'm not too keen on metallics for rally cars, needs clear lacquer on top, I prefer a conventional gloss paint as its easier to touch up when you do some damage! Also better for polishing out marks.

I really have to agree with you on that point, metallics are an absolute nightmare to match up even when you do have the right colour code and shade and then the hassle of laquer etc etc BUT ..... it would look good !!!!!
