it's all horse sh1t at the end of the day, the in-car spill kit in most instances isn't big enough to make a difference, i.e if your car craps itself on stage are you honestly going to risk life and limb ragging up a 100yd long oil slick on or just off stage with what is effectively a sparrows hankie? granted if you stop and then it pours out you might stand a small chance of cleaning up a small slick.. as for the environment if you were really arsed about it you wouldn't be thrashing round in a serious ozone unfriendly 10 to the gallon petrol burner!!!!!

To be fair i dont really think the MSA could give two shits about the enviroment but for motorsport to continue we need to keep the tree huggers happy. This is where the spill kits come in, were saying in the event of a spillage we have the neccessary equipment to contain it, it shows were doing our bit and that keeps them happy. We know full well a bag full of hankies is going to do f**k all if i bust my sump open and spill 5 litres of oil all over the place. But what they dont know wont hurt them

Well, I'm a well known tree hugger - I think I've got one car that does over 20mpg And now I've got some spill kits too so I feel very righteous
