Yeah mate,Dave did the cage, did me two actually, one for the spare shell that i'll fit myself at a later date. Reasonable price too.

No Dave. No issue now though, the Historic idea was due to me thinking that the 3.5lt engine would be no good unless I built the car to full homologated spec, but it seems now that I can use the V8 as it is 3500cc with 2 valves per cyl.

looking forward (very forward............ ) To the day i fire her up with a set of quad downdraughts trying to suck the world in!!!!!!!!

Had a very productive day today, got the seat rails in, all the drain/chassis holes plugged and most of the seam welding done. Hopefully next weekend I can get the rest of the seam welding done then get some primer on her.

I am gonna do the underneath, inside and under bonnet myself, but she needs a professional to do the exterior......................but not sure where to get one so i'll just let Lee Lee do it!

you've got me thinking now, i know for one over here 26,000miles 3.5 vitesse can you use these in histerics.........

Well, productive day and a bit, got most of what I wanted to done, then ran out of welding gas! "Oh bother!" i said [:p].

Anyway, pics as usual............

Purists will note that I haven't really done it the "Factory" way, by unpicking all the spot welds and re-spot welding it in, instead I hav just fitted part of the panel and stitch welded it in to match the rest of the seam welding, it also over laps at the bottom where it meets te chassis rails effectively double skinning it for added strength..............





I also wanted to finish off doing the seam welding on the underside, so I can get some paint on the inside, not one for welding upside down................











Last, but not least, when I ran out of gas, I attacked a job that I had been avoiding, drilling the original seat mounting brackets off.........
