Spoke to jonny and 'dru, jonny has a fractured spine , he is having an operation tomorrow for some rectification - not sure what. Luckily, his cord is ok and he can feel his legs are ok, he sounds ok and we had a bit of a laugh about the nurse with the scissors .
Andrew went to Hospital when he got to the i.o.m. with pains down his left side, he's feeling pretty sore too. Fingers crossed for their speedy recovery

Just back from the hospital after having an x ray myself after feeling pretty shitty. No damage for me other than whip last and some swelling.

It was carnage up there from the first stage - cars off everywhere.

We ran out of road and the car was launched off a banking/ditch into the air at a hell of a speed and landed very heavily - just remember looking out of the windscreen and seeing only grass and silence as the car was vertical through the air.

I went to see Jonny last night before coming home and he was in a lot of pain and pretty drugged up. It could be a while before he is back to full fitness.

Just been speaking to John on the phone.

He is a lot more comfortable than yesterday and the pain is being managed well through medication. He said that he is due to have some form of surgery tomorrow afternoon, however I am not 100% sure on what that entails and will then probably be in hospital for the rest of the week at least.

It hasn't put me off and really I want to get out again ASAP, however like us all I want to wish him a speedy recovery.

Glad to hear that Jimmy's out of hospital and that Andrew's on the mend.

Gutted for JPS - it isn't just the pain/injuries and the car mess, it must cause problems for work, too.

Last month we talked about just stroking it round an m.v. with your young lad navy'ing , to us Otterburn was a lot more technical than the few stages we did at epynt , and with a bit of rain and fog in the mix - that would be a no no from me. It is a full-on rally venue

The operation is for jonnys crushed vertebrae - they are going to pin him up with some stainless bolts tomorrow, i'm hoping all goes well, especially as he won't be back in Manchester until next week

That's the type of point I was trying to make when I talked about 'team work' - also when I posted the thread about SVs.

When you don't feel like you're playing a 'team game' - you get kinda selfish about sourcing the fun....

I wouldn't enjoy cruising around a scarey venue - I'd rather be selfish around a simple (not rallying imo) SV and enjoy some skids - because I'm scared of doing what JPS has done.

How do the stages compare to IOM? They look pretty bloody good to me.
