I have a bmw 316i speedo and rev counter has gone off any one no what it could be

Sensor in the diff, 2 10mm bolts hold them in and easy to change

As the rev counter isnt working also then i would be looking at the clocks wiring and clocks. Shouldnt both go off otherwise

Thanks I look at them but I want out test the car today and snapped a cam done no why

What's the mileage on the engine?

Depends on budget and how far you want to go with the engine.

Keep it for spares and find a low mileage engine out of a breaker..
