e30 in Ronez quarry rally

while trying to get my good engine to the uk for a rebuild i used a standard m44 that had been sitting on the garage floor for the last 5 years. I fitted some e36 m3 itbs and was surprised how well it ran with the standard ecu. It got given a good revving and i shared it with a friend as his car wasn't ready so the car was driven hard with little time for a rest or cool down.
It was a fantastic day and surprising how much fun can be had with a basic engine and not a lot of power.
My friend who shared it with me was also faster than me so i will have to share it with someone slower next time He finished 3rd overall and 1st in class which was excellent going as the 4x4 cars had a big advantage on the loose surface.
