I found another seam to stitch - this time in the turret tower.
Looking at where the weld penetration/heat marks are when looking from the outside of the turret tower, it can only help to strengthen it.

Thanks guys
When the car is in the bodyshop I'll get them to have a go at the bits you mention M3C, RSWC advice looks good too - already seen about the M3 strut top idea, but is it worth stripping the car now or waiting until I bend it? Do you think the stresses of normal rallying (tarmac) would be too much or should I be ok if I avoid big jumps - eg IOM event..?
M3 engine en route
Probably means the crashes will get more spectacular - but at least Miss Notax won't be able to throw up on me anymore... some breaking news to be posted later ![]()
sounds like even worse handling and understeer to me!!

More totty?
Well HE is in the photos above - maybe the bearded look is what you like up North He may not have the figure or the looks of Miss NT - lets hope he makes up for these failing by not throwing up all over me ![]()
Spent the last few weeks getting the car ready for Bovington on Sunday - still a bit more to do so busy day tomorrow (scrooting on Saturday)
Just collected car and driven it for the first time with its new (ish) PSS9 Billies. Miss NT following in the Volvo can confirm car still slides well Handling seems great - although wet roads and road tyres aren't the best test... Rear end looked far too high but it now seems to have settled nicely. I may raise the front a bit - seems the same as before and that caused major grounding at times Brake fluid has been replaced with top notch AP juice and I have had the vertical handbrake lengthened and doglegged in ally - very nice job but has exaggerated the wobbliness - another job for tomorrow. I may try and use some sort of bush or washers to reduce the play. Fabricators have also strenthened the rear wheel holder which had come loose. Very good job again - and very reasonable rally rates if anyone local wants an intro... Cut off switch has been playing up recently - now seems sorted but also need to replace the pulls tomorrow as both are a bit seized too... Car should now be as competitive as its going to get (future engine mods aside Other jobs are largely cosmetic - new arches to beat clearance isues, fibreglass bonnet (help reduce front end weight), fit roof vent (carbon Piccies to follow courtesy of Miss NT... ![]()
Well, thanks to Miss NT here are a few photos to bring you up to date...

Re: Notax compact updateMy car has now been arched all round - thanks to Spaceman
The front has 50mm spacers but at the moment the rear is standard track. The car now seems to handle brilliantly (at least on a slippery surface) but wondering whether to increase rear track - and if so how far to go. I know there are risks with wheel bearings -but I would replace them at the same time as fitted spacers so think they'd last for some time - car still on originals at the front and has done about 6 rallies with no issues... So, would you increase rear track? If so how wide? ![]()
