Notax compact update

Well, the car didn't overheat at the weekend, but I know that notax has various cunning and devious plans to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I'll leave the technical explanations up to him though!

Overheating hasn't happened since Longmoor Loco - mind you our only event since then has been a slalom. No problem at all on the road.

Fibreglass bonnet and various chavtastic vents are about to be fitted so hopefully problem will be overcome...

As you may have heard on another thread I have unfortunately mashed myself quite badly

Being thrown headfirst into a tree at 25mph from a bike is not good for ones health. Air ambulance took me to hospital where I stayed in fairyland for a few days. Now back home with smashed wrist, broken arm, whiplash and strangely torn biceps as well as various other painful bits. Could have been much worse

Can't drive until mid April - and supposed to take it easy for three months Had to pull out of the 3 Counties this weekend (obviously) but against Dr advice determined to enter Longcross in mid May

Spending time buying up all the bits on my above wishlist - new orange mudflaps arrived today, together with the rather more pricey plexi window kit. Supposed to save weight but I can't even lift it with one arm!

New bonnet and all my chav vents also here now, and a rear spoiler...

Also acquired a large number of 17" wheels and various tyres in different states of knackeredness

Off to gulp a bit more valium and rejoin the fairies

Don't rush things notax

You could end up taking a lot longer to mend.

I hope the fairies you are going to rejoin are the type of fairies in childrens' stories and not t'other type

I do look rather fetching in my pvc trousers, but I was referring to the other fairies. I will of course be spending more time with my pvc buddies once I regain full wrist action

My thread about Compact weak points a few weeks back had lots of views and no replies As many of you know my car (ex Mr Fuzzyfelt) what do you recommend I upgrade - over and above the lightening measures and tyres already underway?

Any advice appreciated. I'm sure Tom won't be offended - just glad he's not the one paying to rectify whatever you come up with

Front strut tops and turret seams (get a decent strut brace on imo), diff lug mount x-member seams too.

Also, previous drivers are suspected to be a weak point, but that's up to you to diagnose/fix.

I missed that post too N/T are you sure you didn't imagine it in a (prescribed) drug induced haze I did the following on mine to strengthen the front.



Having removed the front wings I found what appears to be a crumple zone. Looks like a weak point


1st job to was stitch the internal seams and plug the drain holes


And then a carboard template made, steel cut and welded in. Nice'n'strong now. (Additional drain hole made in the bottom)


And finally stitch along the inner wing thingy
