hi tom , no didn't do it had the same issues with the car on its second trip to the mappers so have opted to change the followers to a different make , sadly it would not start when it returned from the mappers so that's something completely different . decided to shut the garage door and take a break and finish off some other bits hanging around . will have a good look at it over the easter break , got some sensors and bits in ready so should hopefully sort it , seems to want to fight to the end .....

A while since ive posted , spent ooodles of time checking what has been the problem with the car , finally made some progress , got it running now .
Replaced all tappets again this time for hydraulic which so far seems to have sorted one problem , cat cams ones seem to be causing problems with sticking .
Replaced crank sensor and coilpack , after replacing 2 crank sensors with motor factor ones which would still not start the the car , i obviously went off in different directions which were a total waste of time and effort and frustration , should have stuck with my gut and with crank sensor as first thought , ended up buying a genuine bmw one out of desperation and she fired up straight away , lesson learnt there, and before anyone says it i did check all the new sensors for resistance etc and all show the same values even the new bm one so work that out ???? . The cars is now ready to go to the rollers again im hoping that this time it will be smilllllly day , taking my other project this week to the rollers then the bmw when im back off hols so hope the next update will be good news ...
