Never going to get a central venue for all of us, but would be good to have a forum track day driving one anothers cars. Oulton Park gets my thumbs up. Next question when?

I am bang middle of the country, so anywhere gets my vote.(within reason!)

Lets remeber though, we don't want a long, fast race circuit as all our cars are geared lowish, would be nice to have some tight twisty stuff too.

I always like Blyton, Howard is a reasonable man with price, fairly accessable, and we could have it to ourselves, whereas if we were part of a proper track day, there are others there that may not be down with the idea of a load of rally drivers swapping cars!

Again, likewise Curborough, but very small, I know you can do as many laps as you want, but don't think you could get a proper feel for the cars, and wouldn't be able to get heat into tyres. Cheap though.

i had been in touch with BMWcar magazine to do an article on my car, maybe we could get them to cover all of us in one hit, thoughts?

Teesside/Langbrough kart track is an excellent tarmac testing venue.

Very 'relaxed', too.

They've already done a 3 page article on my red car, they did a sizable one on Paul Newbold's, too.

blytons a bit rough arse, good little test venue for challenge boys, etc like you say you don't want to panning the car all day,but theres a trackday on at donnington at the end of july? or anglesey or trawsfyndd ranges can be booked for a group test, now that would be good!!! some twisty and some longish i.o.m style road sections!!!

Donington isn't really the type of thing we need, is it?

Anglesey's fekking miles away from England.

What about 3 sisters? Short circuit/kart tracks more like what we want?

i don't think you can get on three sisters anymore for test or whatever?!! unless you know different? unless a magazine thing is organised, then you might be able to talk them round??

I know Teesside's further for most (and me, 3 sisters is closer), but it's available for exclusive hire and it's perfect imo for some sensible speed tarmac testing.

And they're partial to pound notes.

If we could get a few cars together somewhere, the magazine might be interested. They might even divvy up or bring something interesting along.

A short circuit/kart track might be more appropriate for us imo ---- others' thoughts?

Yeah, would suit me.

Agree what you say re-Donington, I would LOVE to drive Donington, but not in my car as it is at the min, I would at least want to change the diff, and I don't think you would be able to replicate some of the tighter, twistier stuff at a big venue like that.

When is another huge question. In fairness, I wouldn't be able to do owt till september time, sorry.

Also agree with wanting to use a venue which is not a pure race circuit (like Oulton Park which I'm a huge fan of). Shame 3 Sisters is not an option as previously mentioned, however Blyton is not a bad alternative imho

September gives one or two others a chance to finish building their cars

A bit out of the way but cadwell park is ideal for rally cars as the straights are not that long.

Looks pretty damn perfect for what we want IMHO. And, it would be a lot easier to get the venue exclusively.

Fairly central (ish ). Easy for Me, Simon, Bruvs, Jonny, Andy etc. Not so for Chris and the other southerners, but as with this type of thing, you can't please everybody.

I love Cadwell.

But we'd get hoyed off away home with a black flag stuck up our arses on a trackday.

Outdoor/long circuit kart track somewhere/anywhere, for 'sole use' gets my vote.
