Cadwell Park trackday - 10th June

Just a quick post about my track day at Cadwell Park.
The days was open pit lane, with a 105db noise limit. My standard 318ti recorded 74db “quietest today” remarked the testing guy. It was sunny all day apart from a 30 minute shower at 12.30, just when we stopped for dinner. I swear you couldn’t have planned it better!
Since the last track days, last year, I have fitted some Spax VSX suspension and Pirelli P Zero track tyres. Other than that bog standard 318ti
After a couple of steady sessions first off, I started pushing the new tyres, and boy are they an improvement on the old knackered budget things that I used last year! I could really lean on the tyres in the fast bends at Cadwell, and the more confidence I built up the more they gripped. Superb. Also they didn’t sufer from loss of grip from heat cycles; they were sticky from the first to last lap
I had a free 20 min session with an instructor at dinner time and other than “nice first lap” he didn’t say a word till we came in. He complemented me on my driving being smooth, fast and “not much more I can tell you really” I was very pleased with such compliments! Although I do appreciate that in a slower car there is less to cock up, so it’s all relative.
I drove the car home with no problems or faults. It's a great little car this ti. I just REALLY need more power now.
