Have just put our entry in for this one too

Enjoyed the event last year - in spite of the horrendous tyre bills. This year I have a load of ultra hard compound tyres so I hope it's really hot again!

We are promised less 90 degree bends and some more narrow roads which should address the main concerns we had last year

Lee has pulled his entry but can we make a concerted forum effort to get Simon back in his car ? Lets tackle the likely excuses...

1. I'm scared and have taken up knitting.

a. It is flat (ish), there are no trees, there are no scary wild animals - and knitting needles can be lethal

2. My tow vehicle is rubbish

a. Not now

3. It's a long way

a. Yes it bloody is - unless you are Alan Partridge - but it is a 2 day event with decent mileage

4. It's expensive

a. Only £295 as previous entrant

5. Tyre wear is high

a. Yes it is! Get on Ebay and buy up loads of RS5s - I've stopped buying now so they are all yours

6. The car handles like a bag of crap with an S50 - it could never get a good result...

a. Notax 6th OA and 1st in class with an S50 and same suspension at EMCOS...

7. I've lost my mojo

a. You'll find it on a runway in Norfolk

8. I might invite someone who will embarrass everyone at dinner with inappropriate conversation

a. Like last year? Well, Edward is another year older so at least he'll understand now

9. Lee can't make it

a. Exactly - we need someone else apart from team Notax to carry the BMW flag

10. I'm old and not sure I can do this anymore.

Only scared of runways when I'm sat in planes.

Pikey van is being collected this afternoon by a pair of hippies from Nottingham, it's bound for a magical mystery tour of the music festivals this summer. New tow vehicle has air-con & cruise control - much more appropriate for a gentleman of my vintage.

No longer a concern - see above.

Not expensive for the mileage.

Can't find any at all in 17", I have a 'saved search'.

My fault for not making any effort. As previously - they'll never be a MK2 escort, but I know that they can be made to work a lot better than mine currently does. RBMR would be a good opportunity to experiment.

I never could do it - the only difference being that I'm now old too.

Pros:

Loads of mileage, opportunity to be less idle and experiment with the car.

Very enjoyable weekend last year, including some enlightening dinner conversation.

Somebody else might have misplaced their mojo there and I might find it.

Youngster would enjoy it.

nothing worse than featurless venues. nice to see some shear drops and hills, when going flat out!!

I promise not to be sick this year - that's got to be a good thing hasn't it??!!

after a string of good results, i'd have thought notax would be looking for a bigger challenge?!! maybe a multi venue event?

Had everything gone to plan I would now be in my second year with Miss Notax navving and had been hoping to enter a championship (albeit sv) but probably try some MVs too...

As you know it wasn't to be - and Paul has only navved 4 times in total. I need him to get more consistent before I want to risk MVs - so unlikely in 2009 season.

If I know you're coming I'll try and book same accomodation as last year (no pressure!)

BTW the top drivers are soon to be announced and that could result in a rush for entries if it includes current WRC peeps...

Great fun weekend last year.

Great banner pic. That you persuaded me in to. (Ta for that. )

Great fun at dinner on Saturday night. (Top marks for sourcing the food! )

Great fun for doing some safe skids.

Great accommodation. (Thanks for sourcing that, too. )

Great event to be involved with.

Very sociable/convenient type of event.


Fcuking sh!t stages.

Boring as fcuk. (Even with a sick engine & sh!t driver. if it hadn't been for the interest of RR's company I'd have fallen asleep. )

It's a joke to call it a rally and Richard Burns wouldn't feel flattered.

How it gets praised so highly on BRF is beyond me.

looks like your going to be flying the flag notax, we will be doing the pendragon a week or so later, how about you getting some incar?
