It'll be a good event to watch if the challenge crews are there.

Even without them, we had two ambulance dodging 'drive throughs' in 2007.

Dunno, what's Leyland test track like? Is it similar to Mira?

Mira is faaaast and the stages are tyre gobblingly lengthy. The banking made me feel a bit 'iffy', they slapped some chicanes in and you had to drop down the banking in to them.

Yep the bankings sound identical to Leyland test track. Hard to judge when to brake for a water barrel chicane when you're doing 150 in an Grp N Evo.

Mira scared me didn't really light my fire, but I'm a woos at the best of times and two broken engine mounts didn't help. The other stages were good and it was a great weekend.

It's not on my 'to do' list for 2009 ATM, but if my youngster develops a taste for navigating it'd be a great event for him and some forum company might tempt me.

Not really RoM related but was thinking how great it would be to go camping and watch the British GP at Silverstone, go and cheer Jenson on, same weekend, bumsville, anyroad Rally takes priority so guess it'll have to be Hungary and hookers leave the lad at home.....

Thanks. Just starting to come back down to earth now and have put in the paperwork to the DVLA to swap my cherished plate onto my rally car. I hope they don't take too long (they say it could take upto 6 weeks ) otherwise I'll only have a photocopy of my MOT certificate for scrutineering if I put an entry in for Otterburn (which is not likely to fill up IMHO)

DVLA only took about 3 days for the 'certificate of entitlement' (or whatever it's called) when I did one recently, but the V5 took a month.

MSA only took about 3 days with the CCLB when I did the rally car, but you have to send the V5 iirc.
