Saturday 23rd May between Cheltenham and Cirencester. This was my favourite event of last year - 50 miles, concrete and loose fast enough to be properly scary (even with the 325 lump) - well in excess of 100mph on the loose down one bumpy straight

Event is held on a very disused airfield and pig farm, but no cones and barely any man made chicanes last year. Last years event was so quick that a third of the field - including us - beat the bogey time!

Be great if some of you can make it - far, far better than most SVs. Regs out today - be quick - it was oversubsribed last year... www.emcos.co.uk

getting brave behind the keyboard johnny? i'm sure he's got good reason to knit underwear in these hard times! i quite fancy some socks if he's taking orders!

Why brave? I can give it out as much as the next man Too busy and no money are two completely separate excuses. You need to let Simon know what size feet you have if you want a pair of wooly socks knitting?

Lacking a bit of motivation is the true reason.

Tad disillusioned with car, uninspired by Svs, scared of tarmac MVs and don't fancy sumpguard surfing around the forest ruts at the back with a fragile car.

I think this venue is just what you need

Really well designed layouts, doesn't feel as though you are on an airfield, very few cones, loose in parts but not enough to damage car - just enough to be fast, fun and a bit scary The slipperiness will also disguise any failings in our car's suspension/set up. As I say my favourite event of 2008 and I did a few... Also cheap £170, reasonable length at 50 miles, and I was on track to finish in mid 20s in the pretty standard 325 powered car (until Miss NT could take no more on the penultimate stage )

Be great to see you if you can find the motivation...

PS we still don't have curtains - although the bathrooms are now a bit further down the line than yours!

This is the final bathroom (thank fcuk!) In the past 10 months I've completely refitted/tiled an en-suite (with assistance), painted 120 litres of emulsion & 35 litres of gloss/undercoat, wall papered two rooms/ceilings, fitted a massive velux (with assistance), refitted/relocated the office garage, fitted all new curtains/blinds on every window, replaced 15 hardwood internal doors (with lots of assistance!), replaced/rewired all the light fittings, replaced 47 sockets/light switches, converted a loft void, laid some hard wood flooring (ow, my knees still hurt) & had 160 metres of carpet laid.

'Only' a new CH boiler and two small Veluxes left to do now. ....

It's no wonder I'm fcuking skint!

They're the tilers - I couldn't face tiling again. (And he's doing a better job than I did with my recycled matchsticks.)

Oh, I've also wired & re-shelled/refitted the rally car (with mechanical/fabrication assistance).

And I have a job in my 'spare time'......

It's no wonder I'm lacking motivation either.

I wasn't bothered when the Agbo entry filled, but I was a bit miffed when the weekend arrived.

That was the plan at the start of 2008, Dave... Bite the bullet, head down, get it all done (including re-shell) and back to rallying in 2009.

The RBMR was a great weekend. But it didn't inspire me/was a bit of a disaster rallying wise.

The ALM stages is just a bit of bank holiday weekend fun with the youngster. I'm hoping that a more focused event might relight my fire...

Whenever I haven't been rallying in the past - I've always wanted to be. I don't feel like that atm. Perhaps I just need some focused stage miles for a confidence boost.

sounds like you need your rally mojo back? i reckon you'd enjoy the pendragon this year, i've heard theres a little night blast around lowther on the sat night, and all day sunday to go at, it's a good little rally not too far from home whats all this drift wrongness about jps? you'll be wearing a white headscarf with a red sun in the middle next!!

Excellent you know I share your views about RBMR but the EMCOS rally is a completely different event - and one I'm sure you'll love. It is also inexpensive and not TOO far.

I'm also sure there's a mojo or two to be found there

Let me know if you'd like me to find some accomodation for the Friday night...

But is all on the motorway- and it WILL be worthwhile - who wouldn't drive 193 miles to rediscover their mojo? And having rediscovered it you'll barely notice the drive back
