info, preparation, digs,ferries at the right price etc you've only got to ask nearer the time, if you're serious i'd advise you to go and watch the national in may or the inter, in july, enjoy the rallying but drive some of the stages and get a feel for the place, i'll be going this year, watching at least might even give you a guided tour!!

With 85% of the event stages new to us we bought our pace notes in advance with a DVD.

Guys...would loike to see a flavour of these stages / what to expect..

yes, is-si has just got to find time to sort, got 2 night ones and 3 day .none of the "off" stage , druidale was a bit of a strange stage, ice on the road where the sun didn't reach!! more surface changes up there than the moon

Druidale's a tricky stage, particularly the first bit over the top before the Cottage.

Nice air on the jumps between the cottaage and Sartfield hairpin.

Gets tricky again after the hairpin.

managed to snatch 5th just before the jumps!! bit of a heavy landing after the second but the merits of the car is that it lands so well even at full chat ! really enjoyed the night stages, pity the vid doesn't give them justice need to improve on that camera work!!

Cameras never do justice either in car or externally as the lens shows no perspective. As a result everything looks slower than it actually is. I wouldn't worry about it.

Most folk don't show their in car footage as they're worried that peeps might think they're slow.

If you can crank it by hand (the camera ) like they did with Charlie Chapelhatpeg (in t'howd days) you will look very quick

You can really tell the difference compared to a couple of years ago - more committed and not so much lifting! Great run from Brandywell Cottage to Sartfield!

Yeah, the roads on the island are great for rallying - get over there and experience them!

Hi Andy, the commitment comes from being (almost) in control of the notes, resulting in improved confidence. Rob's notes are an improvement to us and this is reflecting in our overall performances. Familiarity also helps, although we were only familiar with say 20% this time. Maybe we are gaining some experience of using pacenotes too, that may be helping as theres (a bit) less in-car stress
