Posted: Thu Sep 15, 2016 10:47 amDear All, joined the forum a while ago but never introduced myself.Trevor Graham from Ballito just north of Durban, I have a BMW 1 series gravel spec rally car with a N54 engine. I am just running it currently in our local rally series but am planning to do selected SA Championship events in future. It will run in a modified 4wd class due to the engine power.
It is a nice spec car that was professionally built by BMW Motorsport in SA, fully seam welded with CroMo roll cage and custom wiring harness running Motec dash and ECU. The suspension is full Rieger and the brakes are BMW 1 series to fit under 15 inch gravel rim. Gearbox is standard ZF 6 speed and diff is big case 135i with plate LSD. Goes well, currently running 200kw on the wheels, bit too strong for gravel but lots of fun to drive.
