Hello to all, My name is Darren I have a y reg compact rally car with a Honda S2000 engine and box. My first outing with the car will be at Brean 2011 is anyone else competing??. Or interested in co-driving?. I bough this car from an human being in Scotland, this is my only positive angle on this person , everything comes to he who waits, the other opinions i will keep to my self, anyway the car is nearly finished, but we have an annoying missfire at 8100 prm and with an engine that needs to rev to 9500 its not great so if their are any electrical wizz's out there and in the Somerset area i would love to chat if you have any ideas. Thanks and hope to speak to any and all. Darren Daz.

Hello Daz , sounds from reading between the lines you've found a lot of things on the car you're not happy with! What suspension and transmission are you running?

Is this the blue and green one that was for sale on here for a while? What management is it running? Know a guy over here that has had problems in the past with the s20 motors not revving properly because honda use 2 positives on some sensors as opposed to a postitive and an earth. Just a thought.

Hello Chaps, Thanks for the replies, nice to see such interest, it is the one that was on here. I am running an emerald 3d ecu, sent it to emerald in case management was the issue, but no problems their, cant thank Dave walker enough for being patient and talkng to me about the problem. To be honest their are aspects of the car that were bodged on, but I wont drive it in anger until its right, so roll on January and we will begin the rebuild of the brakes, bells & rotors front and rear, replace the pedal box with a floor mounted unit and hopefully have the missfire sorted. Thank you for the information on two positives to the sensors, i will get this checked buy a honda specialist as soon as the wheels are on. The car will be finished by the second/third week of January so i will get to drive it for the first time then. Im hoping to do a sprint at Western Airfield which will serve as a shake down, but we shall see??!!. The car does look brilliant, and to be honest i did buy with my eyes not my head but if you don't want another escort their isn't much else available and it is very well spec'd it just remains to see if i can pedal it, lol !! It will be having a carbon fiber bonnet, with fiberglass boot lid, bumpers all wrapped in carbon wrapping. I will be puting a photo of the car on here as soon as i get a break from work. Again thanks for all the interest Daz

Hello,
Does anyone know a very good auto electrician a I can arrange a sesion with to have all the sensor/ecu wiring checked. An S2000 specialist would be the best option.
I am based in WSM/ Bridgwater, Somerset.
Thanks
Daz

I was the "human being" in Scotland and heres my side of the story.
Sometimes when he calls he calles himself Darren othertimes its John , sometimes it even changed halway through the same phone call. Then he says he is sending a deposit which when it never came originally , I tried calling him with no reply. Then I text him and I get a text back which says its from his "boss" and John has left his phone in the office. (What he didnt realise was that I knew he was the boss , a simple google of his mobile numbers tells you a lot ! He has 3 business listed) Not sure how many bosses answer text messages from empolyees phones anyway?? Then he says he needs to ask his boss for time off to come and get the car. The he says his boss is giving some of the money. Then when he arrives , after a run , he says he isnt impressed and doesnt want it. Another run at 9000 rpm flat out around the country lanes and he changes his mind. He takes the car ( on a trailer that was too small and the car was overhanging ) 2 days later I get a call to say the diff wasnt the ratio I thought. Note the word "thought" here as I specifically told him the diff was as I bought it and I had never looked at it. He also moaned about the exhaust , again something I explained would be needing done as it was only quickly made up so the car could be send to Emerald to be mapped ( which it was but came back after 2 weeks with a note stick inside the car from Dave Walker saying it wasnt finished and would need tweaked , something that John/Darren or whatever his name actually is was aware of )
Then one Tuesday afternoon , the scrutineer who logbooked the car ,gets a cal from John/Darren saying he is at a rally and they wont let him start as the DVLA logbook is for a red 4 door car. Not sure which rally was on on a Tuesday afternoon but think again this was another figment of his imagination. The scrutineer explained that the DVLA logbook was irrelevent but he wasnt having this and called me accusing me of selling him a "ringer". I took offence at this ar a "ringer" would imply that the car was stolen and I assured him that there was nothing about the car which was illegal or stolen. I applied for the logbook for the reg number which was on the Motorsport Ireland logbook and , admittedly , I didnt notice it said 4 door . John/Darren signed the logbook and think he just felt a t**t as he had signed for a red 4 door but drove off with a blue 2 door !
He called me saying he wanted me to collect the car and pay him for the wheels and tyres he had bought for it and the £600 exhaust he had made and pya him the £800 it cost him to insure it for the road saying it would not be able to be rallied as the DVLA logbook wasnt correct for the shell. In 20 years of rallying I have never been asked for the DVLA logbook but maybe its different in Somerset. He also complained that it had no mudflaps he wanted me to send him £140 to pay for the mudflaps !
I told him to get on with it , get the car sorted out the way he wants it and get out and enjoy it which it looks as though he is finally doing. ( It will be interesting to see what name is on the car at the first event)
I havent sold many rally cars over the years and wouldnt want to if this is the hassle you get ! But there is always two sides to a story.
John/Darren bought the car for less that the sum of the parts and looks like he isnt happy with having to do some work on it. If thats the case , he shouldnt have bought a rally car.
So , to come on here and make me out as some sort of bad boy isnt fair and there are two sides to every story.

Dear "Human Being", I note you havent put your name up in your own comment, but I do not wish to enter into any wrangling about this car or its seller, all has been resolved with the car and it is running completely legally now. It would have been nice if you had forwarded to me the Tax disc, but i wasnt surprised when you didn't. I have to say this car now handles beautifully, the geometry was easy to adjust as the car is totally rose jointed i found out today the suspension is rose jointed gpA magnesium shocks. We did Brean with extreme care, as i hadn't driven the car before, but even with the icy and greasy conditions it was superb, I caught the rear wheel on a bolder because it turned in too sharply. The missfire has been sorted, the wiring from the top of the ngine to the crank sensor had an internal fault. It is running well we only revved her to 9 a few times as the day was just a shake down. I have to say im over the moon with the car and have no regrets with my decision now ive sorted all the problems. I have placed an order for a fiberglass bonnet and boot hatch with a chap on here, and we are now reducing the weight of the car, and ive now gone on a diet aswell!, lol. We are hoping to do the aswmc cham'ship but we will see how finances run??. Our next outing will be at Smeatharp or Regency stages. Cheers to all John/Darren, lol!
