im after a pair of new engine mounts for my m42 engined rally car build, seem to remember that e28 m5 mounts fit and are supposed to be stronger. i have looked into this and struggled to find a definate answer/ part number.
these are offset pinned type mounts and wondered what other m42/e30 owners were using??

£80 and there great!

Think the e34 m50 ones are a fraction of £80, they are very solid and work well with early 6 series gearbox mounts.
We've had them on a 180hp m42 with a 5.1lsd, Avto uses them, and they were in the regs for the german 318is rallye challenge.

Not used them on a six pot mind.

i got a set ordered today, need to get back on with getting my car progress moving.
not really been motivated with it recently but hoping that the dark winters evenings will get me in the garage!
regards to the german 318is series im going to have a look at those regs into what mods they allow.as the video footage on you tube is great

Engines are standard M42, only mandatory mods being Schrick cams and a control ECU resulting in about 155-160 hp. Transmissions are either standard E30 'box and 5.44 final drive or standard E36 'box and 4.44/4.45 final drive. LSD is mandatory Springs and dampers are free (non-adjustable tho) as is the steering rack. Calipers are standard, pads free, no GRP wings or macrolon windows.
Spec tire is Vredestein Quatrac 3 all-season (195/65 R15), works quite well on gravel and costs 65€

£15 each at euro and probably still are. You used to be able to specify the aftermarket brand you preferred to avoid getting a dodgy quality.
If you put in e34 engine mount in ebay you'll pick some `Febi' ones up for less than £15 each.
Bear in mind, we were originally talking tuned 4 pot m42's, not six pots.

Ye I'm building an M44 compact at the moment so there for that not my banana

as above really, im in the motor trade and think they cost me around £10 each for febi bilstein items, i like having a bit of movement in the rubber mounts or the alloy engine mounts to the block just take all the loading.
