Z3 Steering Rack

I am wondering if the upgrade fro standard E36 steering rack to the Z3 2,7 Rack is ok.
Is there a big difference or is there just a minor change, i know off course the best is to buy the selholm or a BMW motorsport Rack, but the wallet says no.

The BMW z3 rack has 52mm of travel extension per revolution of the steering wheel ,, the purple tag E46 rack has 50mm of travel per revolution - compared to the std rack which has around 45mm.

It is an improvement on a standard E36 rack and is a cheap, easy fit also.
