New prodrive parts

Postby Declan » Mon Jul 29, 2013 4:59 pm

A few of you will know we have an Prodrive rally car ADZ 9667 in for restoration,
I was hoping to run a post all about it, but owner is not interested, sorry. I will try to change his mind.

As we go along we are reverse engineering this car,
All major parts are being faithful reproduced like for like to the same high standards,
If anything these are a evolution as materials are modern and of a very high quality.

1st batch are front track control arms and wheel studs,

Wheel Studs

All tig welded seamless tubing.

Tie rods and toe adjuster.

All machined parts are surfaced hardened and chemical blackened.
These will fit any E30 with very little work. I have a set on my car for ten years and still haven't broke them, still trying though.

More parts are in production, I will post these as they are ready.
Feed back would be appreciated guys.

Declan.

Prices, Have a look at http://www.e30groupa.com for that.
Powder coat, I will leave that to individuals every one has the own choice.
I would also rather let people see the quality in the part 1st, paint would hide it,
Polyurethane clear coat :P

SD1is a mates, Two new builds this year, both 3.5 V8,

he has a stack of them.
Great base as a rally car, sound shells are easy to come by, all very simple grp 4 mods.
He even has a few brand new shells hanging on his wall that came from India, must put up a picture of that.

Declan
Perhaps update your site with your shaft & diff solutions.
Guys on this forum are already having problems in this area and we know you have the proper solution.
Regards
John.

Here we go John,

Rear end problems.

The E30 achilles heel is it's small shaft, I think we can all agree on that,
It wont take big power to break shafts, Lift a wheel in a corner or bump and wheel speeds up, once it comes back into contact and regains grip the torque transfer can snap the shaft. I know, I got a bin full full of them.
Ok John, best we start here,

There are two solutions,

Full Grp A conversion 80 mm bearing, big 210 diff, POA.

Or what I'm working on for those who wants to keep your 188 diff and standard arms,

New bearing, Steel outer hub, inner hub, bigger diff output flange. Shorter drive Shaft bars.
( use BMW CV or lobro joints )
As you will know this is all going to be bespoke made,

Let me know who has an genuine interest so a I gauge how many we can make.
More the merrier as this helps cover tooling and keep cost down,

Declan.

Thank you Steve.

Ask your mates if any of them are interested,
These will suit any E30 car using 42x75x37 rear bearing, which is standard part,
