WOW, what an upgrades man!!
Im sure the best upgrade you can do to any BMW is a good gearbox.
I´d like to try proflex suspension, but sadly i think is too much money for me for sure and I have to keep the GAZ golds on....

Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!Great upgrades and great results! Is that a Tractive box? Loving the machining. Which engine management system are you using? Would you consider using paddleshift? I absolutely love the system on my car. Could you let me know where you get the engine mounts? We were going to fabricate some but this would save us a job...
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!Yes its a tractive, i had the engine mounts made locally. IIRC they was £80-100 ish
Another little thing i have been working on is this.... Ditched the heater finally, but still wanted something to clear screen tidy and warm up a bit on them cold winter mornings.... Saved loads of weight, space and rubbish thats not needed Banana BMW
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!Good idea, I've used heated screens in the past but the elements are forever failing. We were going down the mini electric heater route, but the new shell has a heated screen already fitted so we'll stick with that for now and hope it is better than the ones I've tried before. Thanks re engine mounts.
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!Just on the heater, what make/model/ etc is that and where did you get it?
I have had to remove the original heater box due to the dash bar on my roll cage and so need to rig up something similar.... I saw a couple of heater boxes like yours for sale at Demon Tweeks previously... Thanks
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!I had the heater box made, bought the rad and fan.
Its a highier output than the tweeks one, and base mounted not rear mounted. Cost me around £90 still total Banana BMW
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!So after 24 events without any paint! The car was looking more like a banger racer than a rally car..
So time for a respray and a few body mods! Here is a sneak peak so far........ Banana BMW
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!I cant imagine how the heater sheet fits in the bulkhead, do you have retained something from the original heater? Mine is without it and the finish is not something that im proud of...
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!
Bolts to the bulkhead in the same way as the standard one from the inside. Banana BMW
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!The car is finally all painted and finished.
Its a bit wider than before which means i can run ET 15-20 wheels now and keep them away from the shocks etc They are all E46 Steel arches welded on and filled in! This was a LOT more work than i thought it was going to be, however i didnt want fibreglass on it! Banana BMW
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!We removed the heater from our 323 coupe and saved about 3 kilos as its plastic and weighs next to nothing.
We now have a heater similar to the one pictured and having not only failed to save much weight we are also freezing our B........s off as well! Personally I would leave the heater in if you can.
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!
My heater isnt a bought one as i tried one and it didnt work well, I made all my own. Its twice the power of the off the shelf.. But agreed, wasted effort! Banana BMW
Re: mrfuzzyfelts BMW Compact Rally Car - mk2!
