Took a bit of getting used to, probably only because I'd never used one before but love it now.

We have a few free entries for belgium this year but wont be going as mad as last year first run out will be orc canal rally in may.. been busy tidying up after ourselves and going to make a start on heavy duty back end soon with low ratio 210mm diff, keeping it wide track still but with e28 style shafts. Hope to get some build pics as soon as we start!!

That doesn't look an easy or cheap back axle to build/make. Look forward to seeing how you get on,,, always interesting to follow your builds

Nice. E28 rear? Anti roll bar links look well inboard. Would it need a stiffer bar?

Some of it is E28, as for the anti roll bar it's a case of suck it and see, it might not even be necessary or I might have to make a stiffer one but I incorporated it in the build because it was easier than trying to add one later

The standard bar is mounted inboard

Plus with the rear now turreted It has a lot more suspension travel any further outboard and the anti roll bar would not articulate enough

It will have to wait till I can do some testing see how it works

After many years of development and some good results and fun, the compact has been relocated to wales. Few good reasons why we sold it, non really car related, mainly work/time needed. Maybe time for a rest from rallying unless a good 325 e30 comes along or a sunbeam. #backtotheoldschool.

I was speaking to the new owner last week, seems he had a "mishap" with the compact at Trawsfynyyd last week!

I must say I was surprised to find that you'd sold it so soon after all the rear end modifications?

Oh well, I'm sure it will be fixed and out on another event very soon.

Best of luck with whatever you're doing next!

Cheers,

Martin

Cheers martin.. Bit premature but never a good time to part with a car.it was a tough decision but needed to give us time to do other things..maybe a return with a historic one day..

I'm preparing a 1970s Fiat for some motorsport use ATM Dave, probably not stage rallying tho; I keep feeling drawn toward another Sunbeam.......

Good luck with whatever route you decide to take. 8)
