compacts must be going to be the new rage in NZ

Hi ,
A BIG thankyou to the guys that have contributed to this forum as it has helped me alot to decide on what options to take on my club spec forrest rally compact.
Like many guys on here I have been rallying a mk 2 escort ,mine was a club spec group 4 with a blacktop 4age.
but I managed to turn it into a ball after many faithful years and was almost ready to give the sport up after looking at the costs involved in rebuilding a new competitive Escort.
Then I had the bright idea of using a compact as they were cheap and well specked .
I managed to find a m42 manual with no sunroof (quite rare over here ) and went for a fast build as I am getting too old to spend too much time in the shed !
I went for the Z3 rack ,Z3 4.4 lsd and just changed the clutch plates for escort english to give it more bite.
I had my first event in (6km Rallysprint in forrest)the weekend and are very very happy with how it went. It was as easy to drive sideways as my old escort had had plenty of drive once I had dropped rear sway bar .
