£150 from a Jaguar breakers in Wrexham, I was going to take both he had, but thought I would just get one for now to offer up and see what was what.

Anyway, I thought I would have a look on t'net this morning, to see what ratio the CWP might be, as I know nothing whatsoever about Mk2 Jags, so, it says, 2.4 cars with Manual or Auto box is a 4.27:1, if the car had an overdrive, it should be 4.55:1 :P ,later 3.2 cars have 3.54 and 3.77 with overdrive.

Well, from the state of the car, I was very sure it would be an early car, and it was an Auto with an overdrive,.................fingers crossed...................Removes the back plate, and there she is, 11/50, which to the unitiated means 11 teeth on the pinion, 50 on the crownwheel, which all adds up to................4.545454545454545454545454545454545, :D :D :D .

Just a damn shame she didn't have a nice plate LSD in there too, never mind.

What did you think to David Kelly's scrap yard up in Minera at the back of Wrexham ???? Ive been going there for years to get bits for Chevette's and Manta's etc I know he's a Jag specialist but its like walking into a time warp when you see some of the motor's in that scrap yard !!!!!!

Awesome place Dave, I could spend all day there.

UNfortunately, he was telling me thet the Environmetnt agency had finally caught up with him and he was having to tidy up and conform to there ways  Proper old school scrappies.

Tother Dave, engine spec is.........if I am honest, not finalised yet, I have ammassed some bits and bobs, X-bolted block, thopse heads that are very nicely ported, silly wild cam  dry sump bits etc. Just need some pistions, steel rods, nice crank and to top her off, some quads and we shall be happy.

Awesome power delivery out of her as she had been converted with a 4.0 litre TVR based V8, Tubular manifolds, Jag front 4 pots etc before we got our hands on it LOL

I am really, really pleased with it, don't get me wrong, it is never gonna win any awards for concours d'elegance, but that isn't what it is all about. Next the rebuild starts in earnest, but we are finally under way with the garage, and that is priority no1 so I will be working on the Rover when I get chance. Keep em peeled!

Well fellas, the garage build has started, so not much progress with the car(s) of late, but I have had an hour or two here and there, managed to get the lights in the Rover, and made a start on the front suspension.............

Then, while the good weather was with us, I made a start stripping the Sunbeam out, in readiness for what, I am not sure, but it all hinges on a little matter that should come to fruition next week.

A couple of rot spots, nothing surprising there then!

Also, I have now got her running sweet, but the water pump is leaking.........bugger!

Anyway, keep em peeled..............
