tyre wear

i put some new tyres on the compact for a multi surface rally and after 4 stages the inside edge of the rear tyres were shredded, i checked the rear toe and found it to have 2 degrees toe out so i removed the beam and tried a different beam which when checked gave 2 minuets toe out witch isn't perfect but pretty close to where i wanted it and so much better than where it was. i then fitted z3 rear arms as they are much wider and checked the alignment with them also being 2 minuets toe out. i have just done 5 1/2 short stages of a tarmac rally and when removing the wheels noticed quite a bit of wear in the inside of the rears. I do like using the hand brake but surely this amount of wear can't be right. does anyone else get his with their e30 or compact? what rear toe/camber settings are people using?

its because the car is lowered so the toe in and camber is greater than at standard height. It will be accentuated when the car squats under accelaration too. This is the reason I've always raised the beam in my cars to get back to standard geometry and never had an issue. Bracing between the casting and the bushings is essential to keep them straight too. Raise the beam or fit adjusters is the only solution.

thanks for that, i have strongflex beam mounts which raises the beam slightly but i have no idea what height i am running at. i am replacing the z3 arms now i know everything fits and will weld on strengthening bars from the bushes to the hub as you say, i always thought this was done to stop them bending. Im guessing slight toe in is good?
