I have them in my compact.

Dont tried other brand but mine are awesome. Maybe a little bumpy but i think is because my spring selection, too hard...

Service is good, i bent a front strut and they were fast and cheap, 70pounds for changing the piston rod shipping from spain included.

that sounds good, I like the service I have had so far with just sending an enquiry into them. how did you bend a piston, did you go off or heavy landing etc ?

all positive so far :D

I used the Gaz gold kit on my compact cup race car,,,, they worked away on the circuit but I'd be worried about the stroke,,, not much droop if any for a rally car.
Avo do a good kit with a proper 40mm inverted monotube front strut and a coil over for the rear. They have the standard amount of damper stroke more suited to rallying in the UK

found some more info on the avo kit and its out of my budget I'm afraid, I am still considering using what i have fitted to a few other compacts I have built in the past for other people and that's a bilstein B6 fixed platform struts and standard sport springs, these give a real nice feel to the car but obviously offer no adjustment. also comes in cheaper than the gaz kit

Have you spoken with Phil @ PDL?
He did springs for the std platform as well as modify them for 2.25",,, worth a call

Easy enough to do, and stronger than narrow rod gaz golds, get a set of 328 sport front legs , coilover the bodies, revalve the inserts with bilstein. Rears can also be sorted through them, be patient with them but they can be helpful, if they feel like it !!

That was my biggest concern, the strength of them. Don't think they would be unto the punishment of a road rally.
