Floor mounted pedal box - thoughts

Postby Garry.M » Sat Jun 29, 2013 7:26 pm

I've been thinking about fitting a floor mounted pedal box to help move the weight backwards in the car,, I realise I'll have to extend and lower the steering column along with doing something with the gear stick. Anyone on here fitted one or had experience's with fitting one to a compact?
Cheers, Garry

Yep, yet to be tested in anger, but like the feel of the pedals, hasn't moved the driving position massively but feels like an improvement, got tilton clutch and brake pedal and made the accelerator ourselves.. bottles in the engine bay and on an adjustable plate, pics on the bruvs compact page p26

Definitely feels like you can put more pressure on the pedals - also has the ability to make your legs ache a lot until your muscles get used to the opposite motion.

Was sitting in traffic the other day holding the clutch down and wanted to cry I was in so much pain!

Some E36 steering columns are adjustable so you can use the base socket where they pass thro' the bulkhead. You can then set the height with 2 spacer washers at the top of the column under the instruments, a spacer behind the steering wheel boss then lengthens the column.
