Escort turreted shocks on e30 rear

Postby kipsy » Mon Mar 25, 2013 9:42 am

Hi peeps, after breaking a shock on my e30 yesterday (bilstein challenge) I've read a few places that escort shocks fit. Is there any alterations to do or do they fit straight on and how do they perform- ie similar valving etc
Thanks kipsy

Just realised I forgot to update this. They don't fit- they will rub the cv joint and there doesn't look like a lot of clearance to the shell as the e30 is quite thin and the escort shock is quite 'chunky'. Ah well cheers for the help peeps

Can you not use the offset top mounts that move the rod backwards?
I discovered that as well while trialing an Avo 2-way rear damper on my compact . I'm kind of in the middle of helping design a new damper that clears the boot and doesn't foul the chassis. It's ok on a race car where the full droop isn't important.
